Saki-United Product Adeoye Akorede has officially announced his arrival on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) stage following an impressive start to the new season with Ikorodu City FC. The former Saki United product joined Ikorodu City ahead of the current campaign and wasted no time making his presence felt. Akorede made his NPFL debut in Ikorodu City’s opening league fixture against Ranchers Bees, playing the full 90 minutes as his side secured a convincing 3–1 victory. The midfielder continued his fine start in his second appearance when Ikorodu City faced Abia Warriors. Akorede opened his goalscoring account for the club, finding the back of the net to score Ikorodu City’s second goal of the encounter.   Saki United FC have been crowned champions of the 2026 Ibadan Football Council (IFC) League after a dramatic 2–2 draw against St Luke’s All Stars FC at the Olubadan Stadium, Iyaganku, Ibadan. The Saki-based side, also known as Iwalewa FC, completed their historic campaign with an good run in their final match, coming from two goals down to secure the result that confirmed them as champions of the prestigious league. St Luke’s All Stars FC took control of the final encounter early in the game, racing into a two-goal lead. However, Saki United refused to surrender. The champions responded with a spirited comeback, with Uloko Precious and Hakeem finding the back of the net to level the score at 2–2. The result sealed Saki United’s position at the top of the table with 32 points from 15 matches, recording 9 wins, 5 draws and just 1 defeat.
